Secret place: favorite places for photography
Wedding turned to wedding photographers with the question: “Where would you advise newlyweds to go for a photo shoot if they want beautiful and unusual photos?” Seekers of happy moments generously shared signups and passwords. Here are the most instagramable places on earth!
Misha Moon, winner in the category “Best Reportage Wedding Photographer” Wedding Awards Russia 2019
For an unforgettable photo session, you can go to Mount Etna. Or try yourself, but get to the Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia. Never been to the desert? And what if we offer a white desert in New Mexico, USA. Or go at sunset in Valley of fire state park – a park in the state of Nevada, which is near Las Vegas. The crater lake in the American state of Oregon will also be fascinated.
But I must say that for me personally, the content is always more important. A couple always comes first. It doesn’t matter which hemisphere of the earth is involved, even if it is a native Moscow region, sincere emotions cannot be bribed with anything.

As a profession, I have to be in different parts of our planet. During this time, many beautiful addresses have accumulated, but I would like to tell you about the USA, where I have filmed more than 30 projects lately – wedding and fashion.
I’m a big fan of street photography. Of course, I also love nature, especially wild and unbridled, but nothing so much allows you to create or catch a variety of subjects, to combine light, textures and backgrounds, like city landscapes. In this regard, New York is one of the unique cities.
The aesthetics of a high-rise metropolis, where art deco, hi-tech, postmodernity with neoclassicism and neo-Gothic are eclectically combined, provides endless possibilities for any creative experiments. Do you want to visit the dizzying skyscrapers? Stroll through Manhattan’s financial district. Looking for something loft? Experience bohemian Soho with its low-rise buildings. Also, take a walk through the prestigious Tribeca, look into Little Italy or Chinatown, crowd in Time Square or get lost in the side streets of Broadway. And take a walk in Central Park.
If big cities are not to your liking or dizzying contrasts you prefer elegant Empire style, then welcome to Washington. The city lives in a completely different rhythm, which adds charm and opportunities for shooting to its streets. Austere architecture and large open spaces are in abundance here.
But if this is too much for you – go to Hampton or Montauk. These are the southernmost parts of Long Island – popular resort areas, an example of classic low-rise America. The sandy coastline, neat cities with gingerbread houses and an atmosphere of some special peace create a romantic mood.

I want to tell you about my a place of power where you can recharge with energy, inspiration, new plans and ideas. This is definitely Italy… Yes, not only a region, city or province, but the whole country! I have visited many places in Italy, but I continue to explore every corner of it, invariably immersing myself in a wonderful cocktail of language and gestures, the art of enjoying the moment, delicious food and absolutely fabulous landscapes. What is Lake Como and the picturesque Villa Balbiano! I got the most successful shots here in the past wedding season! Such species, it seems to me, can only be found in Italy.

No matter how trite it may sound, but Italy has been and remains my favorite wedding destination. This country has literally combined all possible options for locations: here and the magical beauty of lakes and mountains, beaches, fields, colorful European houses, olive groves, incredible beauty of the villa …
The cities of Italy are very different from each other and make it possible to make many different and interesting shots, which attracts grooms and brides from all over the world. Surprisingly, with each new love story, these places are revealed in a new way! Is it worth it to say once again that Italy has incredibly beautiful light? Pink sunsets and soft sunshine guarantee the perfect result for your photos.
If you want something more ascetic, restrained, but at the same time majestic and unexplored – the northern countries are for you. One of the most stunning locations I have managed to film a wedding stroll was Trolltunga in Norway (see the first photo of this material – Ed.). It is a stone ledge on the Skjeggedal mountain, located near the town of Odda. The road to Yazyk is quite steep ascents and descents. The weather in the mountains is unpredictable. We waited for about an hour for the rain and heavy fog to pass. But I can definitely say: the view that opened up to us was worth all the difficulties!

Any photography is often an improvisation. Because you have to shoot in a tight time and navigate on the spot. Top tips: Look for reflective surfaces and light-colored buildings (they play the role of a reflector), try to shoot against the sun or in the shade. Cool photographs are obtained in arches, among columns, in window and doorways. You can take beautiful atmospheric shots by shooting a person from the back. Wow frames are those with life and emotions. The location doesn’t really matter. Although, of course, some places initially give an amazing picture. For example, I personally remember Lake Braies in Northern Italy, in the Dolomites. There are no words to describe this beauty, but fortunately there are photographs.
For travel lovers, I advise a small town, or rather the village of Hallstatt. An incredibly atmospheric place in Upper Austria, where you want to photograph every corner, street, house. Everything is saturated with an aura of comfort and warmth. Time seems to flow slower in this city. This city is so beautiful and photogenic that the Chinese have built a replica – Hallstatt.

For me one of the most photogenic places is Bali. The concentration of beauty and the variety of locations, landscapes exceeds all expectations! Undoubtedly, this is the perfect place for a honeymoon. The only thing that is important to consider is that shooting on the island is best done at dawn or dusk, so that the shots are as good as possible. In addition, there will be significantly fewer people in tourist spots at dawn.
Ideal sunrise locations: Tegalalang and Jatiluwih rice terraces, a lake in the north of the island and the Tamblingan Water Temple. For brave and physically prepared active travelers, I recommend climbing the Agung volcano and meeting the sunrise above the clouds floating below.
In the afternoon, you can go to shoot waterfalls, for example, the largest and most impressive – Sekumpul. Sunset is best observed on the ocean coast, especially on the southern Bukit Peninsula, although in Canggu they are also picturesque.
If you have enough time, I also recommend going to the neighboring islands, for example, Gili Air and Nusa Penida: to supplement your photo album with shots of wildlife, cliffs, rocks and deserted beaches.
