Most memorable weddings of 2019: top 10

This year was rich in stellar weddings: noisy, bright, secret, stylish, scandalous. We invite you to remember how the most significant celebrations of 2019 took place.

Regina Todorenko and Vlad Topalov

One of the cutest couples of domestic show business – Regina Todorenko and Vlad Topalov – signed in the registry office more than a year ago, in November 2018, and they decided to hold a magnificent wedding ceremony after the birth of their first child, on July 3 of this year. The place for the celebration was the ancient Villa Astor in Sorrento, from where a beautiful view of the Gulf of Naples opens. By the way, the singer made an offer to his beloved nearby – while relaxing on a yacht somewhere between Sardinia and Sicily. The celebration began with a light cocktail on the summer terrace of the villa, after which all guests went to the garden, where the solemn part of the ceremony took place. Then the couple and their loved ones were treated to an Italian-style dinner.

In the middle of the evening, Vlad invited everyone to the stage at the front door of the villa. He prepared a surprise for Regina – he sang John Legend’s song “All of me” to live accompaniment. And then the couple presented their wedding dance to the romantic melody Moon River from the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, which unexpectedly continued with Ed Sheeran’s familiar hit “Shape of you”. The evening ended with a grandiose fireworks on the water in honor of the newlyweds, and the very next day Regina and Vlad continued to relax with the most dear people on the Il Bikini beach on the Tyrrhenian Sea coast.

Julia Kalmanovich and Renat Agistov

In mid-August, designer Yulia Kalmanovich married businessman Renat Agistov. The wedding ceremony and three-day celebration took place on Lake Como in Italy.

As a wedding dress, Julia chose an elegant asymmetrical white dress with a long train, which accentuated the bride’s slender legs, while Renat chose a classic black suit. The festive weekend began with a pre-wedding party, and the next day a solemn ceremony awaited the couple and guests, at which the newlyweds exchanged vows at the flower arch. On the same day, a pre-wedding dinner was held, which ended with a large-scale fireworks over Lake Como. The next morning the party continued in a less formal atmosphere.

Ksenia Sobchak and Konstantin Bogomolov

On September 13, one of the most scandalous weddings of the year took place in Moscow – TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak and theater director Konstantin Bogomolov entered into an official marriage. For the wedding, Ksenia chose a long-sleeved dress embroidered along the entire length with large beautiful flowers from the Greek brand Christos Costarellos and a Galia Lahav dress with straps made of tulle fabric and decorated with handmade embroidery details. The groom preferred Paul Smith suits.

Registration took place at the Griboedov registry office: the newlyweds were witnessed by journalist Andrei Kolesnikov (from the groom’s side) and designer Andrei Bartenev (from the bride’s side), who appeared before the public in an outrageous outfit “19 witnesses” of 19 balloons with faces. It was not the only surprise: the newlyweds left the registry office in a hearse, which was decorated with the inscription “Until death do us part.” After that, Ksenia and Konstantin went for a photo walk at the walls of the Kremlin, and later arrived at the wedding at the Great Ascension Church at the Nikitsky Gate in a carriage drawn by four horses. In the evening, a gala dinner from the Bosco restaurant in Petrovsky Passage awaited a couple and guests.

Paulina Andreeva and Fyodor Bondarchuk

On September 17, the wedding of 52-year-old Fyodor Bondarchuk and 30-year-old Paulina Andreeva took place. To avoid publicity, the couple left for St. Petersburg, where 200 guests arrived for them.

For the celebration, the bride chose two wedding dresses from the Russian brand Maison Bohemique. The morning preparations were held at the Helvetia Hotel.

Despite the scale of the event, the wedding turned out to be very secret. The guests were forbidden to post photos, and only the bride herself posted one wedding frame in which she is depicted in a luxurious wedding dress. The place of the celebration was not disclosed in advance, the guests were taken away by shuttles from the hotel.

The event began in the Yusupov Palace on the Moika: the solemn registration was conducted by Konstantin Khabensky. The couple and guests then moved to the historic Beggrovs’ House, where banquet tables were set.

Among those invited to the wedding were Konstantin Ernst, Tatiana and Valentin Yumashevs, Philip Yankovsky, Oksana Fandera, Alexander Rodnyansky, Igor Vernik, Anna Chipovskaya, Igor Ugolnikov, Renata Litvinova. The event was hosted by Igor Vernik, a close friend of Fyodor Bondarchuk. Svetlana Loboda and Natalya Ionova performed at the festive evening, and Sergei Mazaev from his group “Moral Code” became the headliner.

Daria Klyukina and Vladimir Chopov

This fall, another high-profile wedding took place – the star of the show “The Bachelor” Daria Klyukina married the top manager of Gazprom-Media, Vladimir Chopov. The couple signed at the Tushino registry office in Moscow on September 19, and on October 4, a magnificent wedding took place for fifty close friends and relatives of Daria and Vladimir on Lake Como. The venue for the wedding was the historic Villa Balbiano with a large green area and its own access to Lake Como. For this wedding, the decorators decorated the villa with snow-white flowers, and jazz tunes were chosen as the musical accompaniment.

For the open-air ceremony, the bride chose an Elie Saab wedding dress, decorated with lace and decorated with a long train. After the ceremony, a cocktail was held, followed by dinner. The change of each dish was accompanied by a light installation on the tables, which caused a storm of emotions among the guests. Another highlight was the surprise of the bride for the groom – Daria sang a song of her own composition, which moved Vladimir to tears. The host at the wedding was Nikolai Baskov, and Dima Bilan was among the guests. Both singers also delighted the audience with their performance.

Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin

Justin and Haley took a long time preparing for their celebration. The couple officially registered their marriage on September 13, 2018, and only on September 30 this year, the couple played a lavish wedding at the Montage Palmetto Bluff estate in South Carolina, a luxury coastal resort. The bride herself was organizing the holiday: she chose a place, thought over the decor and the program of the celebration.

For the wedding, Haley chose several outfits: a lace dress from designer Virgil Abloh, creative director of the Off-White brand (his modernist handwriting was given by the inscription on the veil “Till death do us part” – “Until death do us part”), as well as outfits from Ralph & Russo and Vera Wang.

Guests at the wedding included Kendall, Kris and Kylie Jenner, Joan Smalls, Camila Morrone and Jaden Smith.

Jennifer Lawrence and Cook Maroney

Actress Jennifer Lawrence is a true pro at secret weddings. Her wedding in the famous gallery owner Cook Maroni took place on October 19, and since then, the press has hardly been able to learn anything about the celebration. The wedding guests had their phones taken away in advance so that the photos would not accidentally get into social networks, and the territory of the old Belcourt estate in Newport, Rhode Island, where the wedding took place, was reliably guarded from prying eyes and lenses. The image of the bride remained a secret, but insiders reported that the authorship of her wedding dress belongs to the French fashion house Dior.

During the festive dinner, guests were served grilled vegetables, smoked fish and beef, and closer to the night, a van with burgers drove up to the site.

Interestingly, something did make it to the public domain – the actress’s wishlist, which she made in partnership with Amazon, so that guests can immediately order a gift from the list there. Jennifer asked for some interesting things for her wedding, including wireless headphones, a blanket and a mop.

Lady Gabriella Windsor and Thomas Kingston

Lady Gabriella Marina Alexandra Ophelia Windsor is a member of the British royal family. She is the daughter of Prince Michael of Kent, cousin of Queen Elizabeth. On May 18, 2019, Lady Gabriella married Thomas Kingston, a financier who has long and closely communicated with the royal family (in 2011, Thomas met with Pippa Middleton, and even earlier with Natalie Hicks-Lobbeck, the former girlfriend of Prince William).

The celebration took place at St George’s Chapel in Windsor. Lady Gabriella Windsor chose a Luisa Beccaria wedding dress in ecru lace embroidered with rows of flowers and buds for this occasion. The Queen, Prince Philip, Prince Harry, Princess Anne and Princess Beatrice attended the ceremony.

Charlotte Casiraghi and Dmitry Rassam

Charlotte Casiraghi, the granddaughter of the late Grace Kelly, married film producer Dmitry Rassam on June 1 this year. The civil ceremony took place at the Prince’s Palace of Monaco. For the ceremony, the bride wore a lace short gray dress from Saint Laurent, decorated with bows.

After the official part, the guests were treated to a traditional Monaco style picnic in the terraced gardens of the Palace. Later, the wedding continued with a gala dinner at the Monte Carlo Beach Hotel. The bride changed her outfit for a white satin Chanel dress, and her look was complemented by a Cartier diamond necklace.

Later in June, the couple got married and for the religious ceremony the bride chose a custom-made gown from Giambattista Valli, reminiscent of her mother’s wedding dress, the Princess of Hanover.

Ellie Golding and Kaspar Jopling

On August 31, 2019, singer Ellie Golding and Sotheby’s employee Kaspar Jopling got married. The ceremony took place in the singer’s hometown of Yorkshire at York Minster, among the guests was Princess Eugenie with her mother Sarah and sister Beatrice, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, James Blunt and Sienna Miller.

The bride went down the aisle in a custom-made Chloe wedding dress. The thick silk outfit was hand-embroidered with beaded white roses of York – the symbols of Yorkshire, and the lacy stand-up collar made the rather “heavy” look much more feminine. In total, the brand’s masters spent 640 hours on the outfit. For the composition of the bouquet, the performer chose white roses decorated with miniature green branches. The veil that covered Golding’s face before she entered the church was embroidered with the initials of the bride and groom. After the official ceremony, the newlyweds and guests went to Howard Castle.
